Bristol Street Motors Wins Motability Specialist of the year for the 4th year running!

David Vollans Motability Specialist 2011

Bristol Street Motors is celebrating winning an award for its work with Motability Operations, the business behind the Motability car, powered wheelchair and scooter schemes for disabled people. The accolade, awarded at the sixth annual Motability Supplier Awards, recognises excellence, efficiency and innovation.

David Vollans of Bristol Street Motors Sunderland Vauxhall accepted the winning award for Motability Specialist of the year. He was highlighted by Motability Operations as one of the people supporting the service provided to over half a million Motability customers in the UK. With award wins and commendations ranging from those for individual car dealers and car manufacturers.

Mike Betts, Chief Executive, Motability Operations, commented:

“The Motability Scheme delivers a service that enhances the lives and opportunities for disabled people and their families. The Supplier Awards recognises the performance and consistent excellence across the different types of businesses and people who deliver that service to our customers. Ranging from those involved in face-to-face customer service, to those who deliver the behind the scenes logistics of the scheme, all winners and commended businesses and individuals are united by their high standards.”

David Vollans, winner in the Motability Specialist category received over 200 nominations form his customers, receiving almost exclusively ten out of ten in all topics customers were asked to vote on – from communication to care.

David's customers took the time to write in and tell us that he ‘is not just a Motability Specialist, but a caring and considerate friend’. David was repeatedly praised for his smile, pleasant attitude, and warm welcome. Customers also loved that David has a great ability to keep things simple, gives first class advice and that he is a true gentleman.

Celebrating their Motability Supplier Awards win, Robert Forester, Chief Executive, Bristol Street Motors said:

“To win a Motability Supplier Award in the Motability Specialist category is simply fantastic, particularly against the stiff competition that the awards are renowned for. Bristol Street Motors is thrilled to have this professional recognition and an award-winning partnership with Motability Operations.”

Also honoured with a commendation was 2010 Motability Specialist of the year, Gavin Gray of Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Newcastle. Both Gavin and David now have two Motability Specialist of the year awards which have been won consecutively over the last four years.

As well as the award for Motability Specialist, there were a further 13 awards presented at a business session hosted by broadcaster Huw Edwards on 8 July 2011. In addition to one winner in each category, there were also commended businesses and individuals.
