Macklin Motors in Dunfermline has become the 800th bodyshop to achieve Kitemark certification.
The Fife company has been running a Ford dealership on Halbeath Road for a number of years and was bought by Vertu Motors in February last year, the first of eight purchased by the firm in Scotland in 2010.
It already holds Ford Accident Repair Centre status, but the new certification highlights the bodyshop's superb safety record and professional service.
Mike Collyer, Vertu Motors bodyshop development manager, said: "The addition of the Kitemark approval further underlines [the team's] ability to carry out a high-quality, safe repair using the correct method and materials for its expanding customer base, as well as offering a service to our dealerships in the area."
He added that all ten Vertu Motors bodyshops across the UK now hold Kitemark certification, while the firm recently opened a £1.7 million bodyshop in Newcastle upon Tyne.
According to the British Standards Institution (BSI), who owns and operates the Kitemark, it is one of the most recognised symbols of safety, quality and value.
