The forthcoming Vauxhall Astra VXR takes the comfort of its drivers extremely seriously.
That is the line currently coming out of the Luton-based manufacturer, which is gearing up to unveil the much-anticipated hot hatch at the Geneva Motor Show.
While many driving enthusiasts are eager to learn more about what will be under the bonnet of the model, Vauxhall has boasted about the seats.
According to the carmaker, the super-lightweight seats are the first in the hot hatch segment to be approved by independent back experts.
The seats are designed using an injection-moulded sheet in order to offer "exceptional grip and comfort".
Vauxhall explained: "The sheet is filled with a composite material made from polyamide and fibreglass and its strength and agility means that it only needs to be two to three millimetres deep, and therefore a lot lighter.
"Bringing driver and front passenger lower to the Astra VXR's centre of gravity, the new seats are mounted 17 millimetres lower than in the Astra GTC, and 40 millimetres lower than in the Astra Hatch."
The seats, Vauxhall added, can also be adjusted up to 18 different ways.
