Sophie Baggaley has been voted the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month for January by football fans across the country. In a vote run by fan engagement experts, Snack Media, the Bristol keeper won 35% of the vote for January, comfortably beating Arsenal’s Katie McCabe (28%).

Bristol City's Baggaley wins PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award

Sophie Baggaley has been voted the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month for January by football fans across the country.

In a vote run by fan engagement experts, Snack Media, the Bristol keeper won 35% of the vote for January, comfortably beating Arsenal’s Katie McCabe (28%).

The last of five divisional votes carried out over seven days via Snack’s digital and social networks, it was evident that the Baggaley’s excellent performance in January, including a 1-1 draw with top of the league Manchester City as well as wins over Birmingham and Yeovil Town resonated with Bristol City fans. This is her second award of the season, having won the first ever female vote back in September.


The full list of contenders from the final shortlist polled were as follows:

  • Sophie Baggaley (Bristol City) - 35%
  • Katie McCabe (Arsenal) - 28%
  • Lucy Quinn (Birmingham) - 12%
  • Erin Cuthbert (Chelsea)- 9%
  • Lucy Graham (Bristol City) - 8%
  • Nikita Parris (Manchester City) - 8%
