Mazda has boosted its Motability programme with the inclusion of its new supermini in the scheme.

The Mazda2 hit dealerships in the UK earlier this year, with four models are now available in the Motability programme. In particular, the Mazda2 1.5 SE air con manual is available with nil advance payments. Other models include the 1.5 SE-L Nav, 1.5 Sport Nav and the 1.5 SE-L Auto.

The importance of the Motability programme to Mazda was underlined by the marque exhibiting at the recent two-day 'Big Event' in Manchester. It is Motability's largest event of the year giving those in receipt of allowances the opportunity to view the largest display of vehicles available through the scheme.

Visitors to the event were able to get up close to the new Mazda2 as well as the Mazda3 and Mazda6. Guests were also given the opportunity to test drive the Mazda6, which has recently been enhanced and now features improved standard equipment levels across the entire model range.

Mazda will also be exhibiting at Motability's regional 'One Big Day' events at the Peterborough Arena, Cambridgeshire, on Thursday 6 August and Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Saturday12 September.

Clare Marston, fleet marketing manager at Mazda, said: "As always, our Motability campaign gives every accredited dealer the opportunity to offer Mazda vehicles in all of the core segments for Motability.

"The arrival of the all-new Mazda2 is vital to the continuing success of Mazda's Motability programme as the B-segment represents a massive 20 per cent of all scheme registrations so every one of our dealers should benefit. There is good availability of the model so our dealers should be able to satisfy demand quickly."

She added: Mazda continues to reap the benefit of offering a comprehensive Motability programme and we are delighted to be able to offer allowance recipients a wide selection of models, many with nil advance payments.

"Overall Mazda's competitive terms across the range give our dealer network an aggressive conquest offer which we believe will increase showroom footfall."
