Renault Captur bags Caravan Club Award after impressive judges

The Renault Captur impressed at the recent 2016 Caravan Club Awards, winning the category of 'Best Towcar of the Year' in the £17,500 to £22,000 category, with judges praising it on its light-weight, economical qualities.

The impressive mini-SUV beat five competitors in a number of tests that were designed to assess its true 'caravanability'. The criteria included value for money, quality of information in its handbook, suitability, load capacity and how easily it could be attached to a caravan.

A four day test programme saw the Captur's dynamic ability and ergonomic qualities assessed on a test route which included tight and twisty 'country lanes', hill stops and starts, circuits of a high-speed bowl and reversing tests.

Product Manager at Renault UK, Sophie Richard commented: "Captur comes as standard with a number of practical storage and convenience features and with the optional Touring Pack fitted, the compact crossover is an accomplished and affordable caravanning vehicle. We're delighted with this award and that the judges at The Caravan Club have recognised Captur for its towing and touring abilities."
