Solihull Council take on the multi-award winning Nissan e-NV200

Solihull Borough Council have added its first all electric vehicle to it's 69-stong fleet. The multi-award winning Nissan e-NV200 was chosen for it's low running costs and zero-emission mobility.

The van will be joining the council's neighbourhood services team, who co-ordinate and deliver projects that enhance and enrich the communities across the borough everything from sport initiatives for teenagers to park improvements, making the e-NV200, which costs just two pence per mile to run, an appropriate choice.

Councillor Tony Dicicco, the Cabinet Member for Environment, Housing and Regeneration commented: "The e-NV200 has shown us just how electric vehicles can work for us. In addition to our clean-air responsibilities, it's important that we as a council also do what we can to reduce the number of large vehicles on our roads. The e-NV200 is just the right size for us, giving the team all the room they need to transport people and tools while saving on fuel bills."

The e-NV200 was launched in 2014, to replace the NV200, and boasts the same technology as Nissan's LEAF - the world's best selling electric car.

Boasting an impressive range on 106 miles on a single charge, which takes only 30 minutes, the van is priced from £13,568.
