New Hyundai i30 awarded 5-star Ncap rating

The new generation Hyundai i30 could soon see a spike in demand after the model was declared one of the safest cars in its class.

It has been revealed that the model scored an impressive 90 per cent score in both child and adult crash testing - helping the car earn the coveted five-star Euro Ncap rating.

The i30 is now the seventh Hyundai model in succession to achieve the maximum safety rating from the industry body.

Allan Rushforth, senior vice-president and chief operating officer of Hyundai Motor Europe, said: "The five-star rating for new generation i30 further demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest levels of safety for Hyundai customers.

"It's another reason for motorists to consider the European-built new generation i30, with safety, first-class quality, efficiency and generous specification among the car’'s impressive list of attributes."

The model also scored well in the 'pedestrian test', with the panel commenting on the effectiveness of bumper's protection of pedestrians' legs, while Hyundai's Electronic Stability Program was also commended.
