Sebastien Ogier triumphed at Rally Germany yesterday (August 21st) to bring a halt to team-mate Sebastien Loeb's run of eight-straight victories in the event.
Ogier finished 19 stages of the rally in three hours and 32 minutes in his Citroen Ds3 WRC and 39.8 seconds ahead of Loeb, who has been unbeaten in an event he first won in 2002.
The result leaves Ogier in second place, but still 25 points off Citroen team-mate Loeb, whose race was hindered by a puncture on Saturday.
Speaking after the race, Ogier said that he has not given up on catching and overtaking Loeb to win the Championship.
"Sebastien Loeb is driving fast, he is consistent, and he doesn't often make mistakes," he explained.
"He is always on the podium but there are still four rallies remaining and many things can still happen."
The Ds3 was making its tarmac debut at the event after spending two days testing out the car on the surface.
