Peugeot revs up its mission to raise £1 m for BBC Children in Need

Peugeot have teamed up with Pudsey to form a 'Dynamic Duo' for Children in Need in an ambitious mission as superheroes to break through the £1 m fundraising mark for the charity.

Over the last two years, Peugeot has helped raise £750,000 for the organisation. To reach the £1 m milestone, the two organisations called on Strictly Come Dancing stars Alison Hammond and Alja Skorjanec to quickstep through Gotham City. The pair then hit the road in true Superhero style to drum up public support across the Peugeot network for their fundraising challenges.

The pair wants the public to back Peugeot dealerships across the country and help the car brand to smash the million pound mark.

The French carmaker has already signed up 250 of its own superheroes from its Coventry head office and Dealerships around the country to perform an assortment of challenges. These vary from knee-trembling skydiving and abseiling, through to swimming and cycling trials, and less adventerous activities like baking, dressing-up or dancing.

Peugeot is looking for the public to support the fundraising events and also hope these efforts inspire others to take part in their own challenges to support BBC Children in Need.

Alison Hammond said: "These essential funds will make a real difference to those who need it the most and Alja and I are thrilled to be able to help Peugeot and Pudsey in their mission to break the £1 million milestone. Everyone has done really well in raising £750,000 so far and being involved in this year's efforts is a great honour.

"BBC Children in Need is a charity close to our hearts and we'd urge anyone who wants to find out more to visit the website or even pop down to their local Peugeot Dealership. What are you waiting for!?"

Stphane Le Guvel, Peugeot UK Managing Director, added: "After two successful years fundraising for BBC Children in Need, we really want to step up our efforts and reach £1 million. This year, more than 250 of our superhero employees, including myself, and several members of the senior management team, have signed up to a series of challenges."
