Progression and Junior models join Alfa Romeo MiTo range

Alfa Romeo has added two new trim levels to the MiTo range for 2015 the entry-level Progression and the sporty Junior.

Building on the revisions made to the MiTo in 2014, when it received a revamped interior, subtle exterior upgrades, more engine options and a higher level of standard equipment, Alfa has further enhanced the range with two new trim levels.

The new entry-level Progression makes the dream of owning an Alfa Romeo more attainable by offering customers more for their money, while the sporty Junior recalls the legacy of the 1966 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior.

The MiTo Progression comes equipped with a range of features expected of a premium hatchback, including air conditioning, Alfa Romeo's Uconnect five-inch colour touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth, voice recognition, USB/auxiliary inputs and steering wheel remote controls.

In terms of safety, the MiTo Progression is equipped with Vehicle Dynamic Control, TPMS and seven airbags. Its exterior looks have also been enhanced with 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and titanium grey headlight and rear light surrounds. The Progression is offered with a choice of engines including the insurance-friendly 78hp 1.4-litre engine, the 0.9-litre TwinAir 105bhp turbo petrol engine and 1.3-litre JTDM-2 85bhp turbo-diesel.

The Junior aims to broaden the appeal of the MiTo range even more by offering more equipment and style within an affordable package. It builds on the high specification of the MiTo Progression but adds 17-inch alloy wheels with a Brilliant White finish as well as matching door mirror caps and a new "Junior" boot decal.

Under the bonnet, customers can choose from a 0.9-litre TwinAir 105bhp turbo petrol engine, which can sprint from 0-60mph in 11.4 seconds or the 1.3-litre JTDM-2 85hp turbo-diesel, which can hit 0-60mph in 12.9 seconds.

Both models are now on sale in the UK.
