Road tax shown for new vehicles is for the first year from registration.  The road tax after the first year of registration will increase by a supplementary amount for years 2 to 6 for vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000 (except for zero emission vehicles). Full details of total road tax costs for individual vehicles can be found at the performance section below

Before any car goes on sale, CO2 emissions are measured using a series of tests. Emissions are listed in g/km (grams per kilometre). Cars with lower CO2 emissions benefit from lower road tax.
