Exterior
The new MG ZS EV sports a restyled front nose with perforated grille-style shaping which creates a futuristic feel.
The charging ports sit at the front of the vehicle, next to the MG badge. Upon opening, there are two sockets; the type 2 charge point for use at home, and the high voltage DC charge point which is used for rapid charging at public facilities.
Smart LED daytime running lights with unique detailing give the new MG ZS EV a fresh look which makes it stand out on the roads. Plus, the dynamic intelligent technology means you needn’t worry about turning your full beams on and off, as all this will all be taken care of for you.
Sporty 17-inch alloys which have been created to maximise efficiency are a real design highlight, and on Trophy models, you’ll have the luxury of roof rails and a panoramic glass sunroof.
At the back of the vehicle, you’ll find more stylish LED lights and the rear parking sensors and camera tucked away. The boot opens to reveal a roomy 470 litres of cargo space. This can be configured in a number of ways depending on your requirements; rear seats can be moved down and there’s a dual height option on the boot floor.
Interior
The inside of the new MG ZS EV is a truly comfortable place to be. There’s ample head and legroom for driver and passengers and the cabin is finished in a luxurious leather style upholstery with contrast stitching.
Handy amenities in the back include a fold-down armrest with cup holders, and USB and USB-C charging ports.
The panoramic sunroof creates an airy feel throughout the cabin generating a sense of spaciousness - a discrete blind is also attached; in case it gets too bright.
In the front, the driver seat is raised to allow maximum visibility of the road ahead. The digital dashboard displays important vehicle information such as speed and power metrics in a high-definition, easy-to-read format. The floating centre console provides connectivity at your fingertips, with features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and an integrated sat-nav.
Performance, Range and Charging
The new MG ZS EV features regenerative braking technology, which allows you to enhance your range by taking wasted energy from the process of slowing down and using it to recharge the battery.
There are three driving modes available; Normal (for everyday driving around town), Sport (which increases the responsiveness of the accelerator) and Eco (which optimises vehicle economy to get the most out of your miles – this is particularly helpful on longer journeys).
Powered by a 72.6kWh, water-cooled lithium-ion battery, the new MG ZS EV has an impressive range of 273 miles (WLTP) and can charge from 0% - 80% in just 63 minutes using a rapid DC charger.
With MG Pilot, you can expect a whole host of advanced driver assistance systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Automatic Braking and Lane Keep Assist, to provide a safe, relaxing and comfortable driving experience. Plus, rest assured, this vehicle has been awarded the highest level of five stars in Euro NCAP safety ratings.
