Alfa to debut mid-engine concept car at Goodwood

Car lovers have been given another reason to visit the Goodwood Festival of Speed, as Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo has announced that it will be unveiling its latest concept car at the annual motoring event.

Alfa claims that the 4C Concept represents "the true essence of an Alfa Romeo sports car", but what we can be sure of is that it will have a sporty mid-engine set-up.

Furthermore, the two-seater rear-wheel drive coupe is built from lightweight materials such as carbon-fibre and aluminium, meaning that the 200 bhp engine can take you from 0 to 62 mph in less than five seconds.

However, petrolheads may be more interested in the car's sleek styling, with large side vents and swollen wheel arches.

Other Alfa creations set to debut at the Goodwood event, which runs from July 1st to 3rd, include the Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, the Alfa Giulietta Cloverleaf and the Alfa 159 Sportwagon.
