Another successful year at Silverstone Classic event

Another successful year has come and gone for the Silverstone Classic where a record crowd witnessed a jam-packed weekend of 22 races, celebratory parades, live music and iconic classic car displays.

Visitors enjoyed fantastic weather for the event that takes place at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit every year. The event ran from July 25-27, commencing on the Friday with the qualifying before the races over the weekend.

The event wasn't just reserved for daylight hours either. A performance from Bonnie Tyler followed the Group C race on Saturday, which ran late into the evening.

A record collection of Grand Prix cars was also on display to mark the 50th Grand Prix at Silverstone. Just some of the race winners from the weekend include: Nick Padmore for the Brian Henton Trophy For Classic Formula 3, Frederic Wakeman/Patrick Blakeney-Edwards for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for Pre '56 Sports Cars and Sam Wilson winning the Peter Arundell Trophy for Historic Formula Junior.

Even though the Silverstone Classic is over for another year, organisers have confirmed plans are well underway for the 2015 edition of the 'world's biggest classic motor racing festival' which will mark its 25th anniversary.
