Citroen Vans unveils Discovery Networks UK sponsorship

Citroen Vans has announced a 12-month sponsorship deal of the Discovery Network UK’s documentaries.

The campaign means that Citroen will be sponsoring more than 235 hours of programming every month across three different channels: Discovery Channel, Discovery Science and Discovery History.

The Nemo, Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay are all to get TV space, with 80 seconds of idents due to be shown every hour, opening and closing the shows as well as providing break bumpers.

To integrate the campaign across other channels, Citroen will have a micro-site, three competitions promoted on the channel and across Discovery’s own social feeds.

Mark Lynch, Citroen’s marketing manager for fleet, business and commercial vehicles, explained how the company is always looking for new ways in which to reach a wider audience, particularly small business owners.

“With this latest campaign we have adopted an innovative creative route, using characters that might be found in documentaries, taking them out of their natural environment and putting them into a Citro�n showroom,” he continued.

“These characters then explore the features and benefits of the award-winning Citro�n van models in a way that will catch the imagination of potential buyers.”
