Fiat 500c scoops another award

Fiat is soon going to need a bigger trophy cabinet after the innovative 500c TwinAir scooped yet another environmental award.

The hugely-popular city car, which has gone from strength to strength since its reintroduction, recently picked up the Green Apple Gold Award for Green Vehicles, Coupes and Cabriolets.

This time is was the convertible version of the model that took centre stage, scooping the coveted gong at the annual International Green Apple Awards.

Commenting on the win, Elena Bernardelli, marketing director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK, said: "I am delighted that Fiat is once again figuring in the Green Apple Awards - we were there two years ago with eco:Drive.

"And it is especially pleasing that the award this year recognises two huge developments for 500 - the 'soft top' roof and the two cylinder engine. It demonstrates the breadth and depth of this remarkable city car."

The Fiat 500 was recently given a higher profile after Jennifer Lopez was selected as the face of a new advertising campaign.
