Fiat unveils bigger and better Panda

Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this week, the third-generation Panda follows the same styling as the 500, Doblo and Qubo.

Also boasting efficient twin-air engines, the range will be available for around £8,000.

Commenting on the new design, industry publication Auto Express said the evolutionary take on the popular model has given it a smoother-edged look.

"Since the original launched in 1980, more than 6.5 million Pandas have been sold across the globe, so it's no surprise that this latest version marks a gentle evolution rather than an aggressive overhaul," the magazine said.

"Even so, every part is brand new. The car has grown by a few centimetres, boosting cabin space. It's now 3.65 metres long and provides plenty of space for five adults. The interior is flexible, with a split-folding rear seat that slides back and forth, while the front passenger seat folds to form a table."

It appears that Fiat is on to another winner with this fun and affordable city car.
