In the Spotlight: SEAT Arona

The new Arona is a new SEAT crossover built for the bold. It’s a car for those who pave their own path, blurring the lines between car and ‘SUV’ to produce the perfect balance of city car agility with the style and substance of something a little more spacious. In this exclusive article, we take a look at what makes the SEAT Arona so special.

Prior to releasing the Ateca, SEAT had no experience in producing SUVs. At first, there was some doubt about whether the Spanish giants could pull it off, while the ringleaders of the SUV market perhaps laughed – much to their surprise, the Ateca packed quite a punch and bagged itself a number of awards, including WhatCar’s 2017 Small SUV of the Year!

Proving their worth in the SUV market, SEAT also decided to conjure a second, smaller offering - introducing the SEAT Arona! Built on the foundations of their immensely popular Ibiza hatchback, the Arona stands a similar size to the likes of the Nissan Juke or Renault Captur. What’s more, the entry-level model comes with a gutsy 94bhp 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, meaning you probably won’t have to venture too far up the range to find what you want.

Prices start from just £16,555 – that’s somewhat of a bargain considering SEAT’s sterling reputation for build quality and indulgent technology, including keyless entry and cruise control. Moving up through the range sees the Arona’s FR variants, which let you enjoy the thrill of the road with sports seats, more agile suspension as well as the SEAT Drive Profile that you can customise to suit your driving style.

The Arona boasts a great range of technical and safety features, giving you both peace of mind and indulgent comfort on the roads.

HILL HOLD CONTROL

Hill Starts can often be a tricky one to manage, especially in traffic. Fear not though, the Arona is here to help! Its handy hill hold control ensures you don’t roll back when pulling away on an incline. It’s a clever little feature that keeps you in control, no matter what.

BLUETOOTH AND DAB RADIO

Stay connected and have the perfect playlist for any road trip. The Arona can connect up to two phones and effortless stream your favourite tunes through the advanced audio system.

DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) Radio means you never have to miss your favourite radio shows while out on the roads, while Bluetooth connectivity keeps you in touch with friends and family on the move.

PARK ASSIST & REAR VIEW CAMERA

A car that parks itself? With 360 degree sensors, your Arona can both parallel park and pull into parking bays. All you need to do is control the speed and braking and the Arona takes care of the steering. With a colour rearview camera, you can keep an eye on everything around you too.

 TIREDNESS RECOGNITION SYSTEM

SEAT know that even the boldest characters need a break sometimes, and so they have introduced a very helpful Tiredness Recognition System that monitors your steering movements, and gives you a heads up when you could do with a coffee or two!

All in all then, it looks like the Arona is on the road to success - with stunning looks, indulgent technology, and the unquestionable reliability of SEAT at it's core, this compact SUV is set to be more than just a craze!
