Is the Vauxhall Meriva the most reliable MPV?

The Vauxhall Meriva is the most reliable model on the market, figures released by a leading German breakdown service indicate.

According to ADAC (German Automobile Club), the Meriva has been named Best Compact MPV for its reliability, with the organisation noting that it has "substantially fewer" breakdowns than the average model in its segment.

The car has been recognised by the group each year since 2005, while the Vauxhall Corsa, Astra and Zafira ranges were also singled out for their stunning reliability.

"With its unique FlexSpace rear seating system, which allows passengers to adjust their seats for more leg or shoulder room, [the Vauxhall Meriva] has proved immensely popular with UK buyers, with over 112,000 being sold between 2003 and 2010," the company stated.

In other news, this week saw Vauxhall unveil its all-new Zafira Tourer, which the company hopes will raise the bar further in the MPV sector when it goes on sale in late 2011.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800551018-ADNFCR
