New Citroen C5s 'to be greener and leaner'

Britons planning on purchasing a new vehicle could be attracted to the upgraded range of C5s from Citroen.
New Citroen buyers are set to find the range now offers greater fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions, as the 1.6HDi 110hp engine fitted in the vehicles has been rehomologated.
All trim levels of the saloon and tourer line-ups will benefit from the enhanced engine, which sees emissions reduced by ten grams per kilometre (g per km) to 130g per km.
Meanwhile, fuel economy has been improved by six per cent and the vehicles have moved into vehicle excise duty band D, meaning they qualify for free road tax in their first year.
New Citroen buyers will find they can achieve 44.1 miles per gallon (mpg) on the urban cycle, up from 42.8, while the extra urban cycle achieves 67.3mpg, up from the previous 61.4.
The manufacturer also recently announced its C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso have also been enhanced through the re- homologation of the 1.6 and 2.0HDi diesel engines in both models.
