Nissan has refreshed its Pixo models ahead of the lucrative summer season and is hoping to cash in with lower CO2 emissions and new colours as part of the new offering.

The revised Pixo boasts CO2 emissions of just 99g/km and will now be available in 'Glistening Grey' and 'Midnight Purple' as well as six other shades.

With a price tag starting at £7,250, the compact city car is sure to attract a lot of attention through the summer months.

"While the Pixo is choc full of features, it's certainly not flakey. The urban-friendly vehicle combines an efficient three-cylinder engine and compact dimensions to create a small car that's perfect for avoiding those traffic cones in the city," the Japanese manufacturer said.

The low emissions mean driver can avoid congestion charges in London as well as the tax benefits that come with greener cars.

There are a number of other features, with Nissan adding: "Every Pixo is also now fitted with an electronic auto-dimming rear view mirror – a feature usually reserved for luxury cars."
