The Peugeot 308 SW has been named "estate car of the year' at Carbuyer's fourth annual awards ceremony.

The website, which receives more than 1.4m unique visitors each month, has put more emphasis on what buyers actually search for in a new car and therefore based the awards on the 20 biggest questions buyers ask.

Focusing on the key factors that really matter to car buyers, including running costs, practicality, reliability and value for money, Peugeot's 308 SW estate passed with flying colours.

Carbuyer's editor, Stuart Milne, said: "The 308 SW offers more space than you'd believe given its compact size, but it's a range of efficient engines and a low price that cement the SW's position at the top of this class."
