A lifelong Tottenham Hotspur fan had the chance to meet one of his heroes, thanks to the Professional Footballer’s Association and Bristol Street Motors.

Mike Halpin, who works in the Metropolitan Police Service, presented forward Son Heung-Min with the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month, at the Wembley Stadium. Mike, who grew up in Chesham and started going to matches in 1991, saw the opportunity to meet Son on the club’s social media account.

Mike, 35, who now lives in Loughton said: “My dad is a huge Spurs fan, so I started going to matches when I was a kid in the Gary Lineker era. I voted for Son because he truly plays with his heart, and it shows, he’s had a great month. It really matters to him and you can tell he really cares about the club.

“Presenting Son with the award at Wembley made me feel like a kid at Christmas! With all the players around, you can’t help but feel a bit like a big kid. I was really excited and had the chance to meet some legends.”

Liz Cope, chief marketing officer at awards partner Vertu Motors plc - parent company of Bristol Street Motors - added,: “We are delighted to continue to support the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award. Our dealerships across the country take pride in supporting their local communities, with everything from grass roots football to local charity support.
