Renault delighted with awards win for Scenic

Renault has claimed that the recent awards win for its Scenic is proving that it is still leading the way in combustion engine development.

It comes after the Scenic picked up the gold award in the MPV category at the recent Next Green Car Awards.

The manufacturer said it was delighted that as it prepares to launch a wave of electric vehicles, it is still being honoured for its work on combustion engines.

Renault UK’s marketing director, Phil York, commented: "We're delighted to be accepting this award from Next Green Car for our best-selling MPV. The brand new 1.6 dCi 130 is the most powerful diesel engine of its size on sale today and yet has the lowest CO2 and fuel consumption of any MPV on the market.

"Since it was launched at the Paris Motor Show last autumn, there has been a lot of interest in both five- and seven-seat versions fitted with this innovative engine."
