SMART Repair service expands

Bristol Street Motors has announced that the SMART Repair service it launched in April this year has been expanded.

Originally SMART - which stands for Small, Medium Area Repair Techniques - served the Stoke, Stafford and Crewe areas but has now been extended to drivers in the Birmingham area.

As a result of the move, SMART now operates a static operation at Motor Nation and a total of three mobile vans equipped to carry out a range of repair works, including state-of-the-art alloy wheel refurbishments.

The work of the teams has helped persuade numerous drivers that quality repair work can be achieved outside of the "traditional body shop", offering drivers a convenient way to make sure their car stays looking in tip-top condition.

Repair work that falls under the SMART category can include - but is not limited to - bumper scuffs, key scratches, stone chips and the painting and fitting of smaller parts.

The primary benefit for drivers it that in most cases the work is more convenient and easier on the pocket than booking into a repair shop.

For instance, the SMART team takes on average 30 minutes to refurbish an alloy wheel, while a typical SMART Repair takes an average one and half hours.

Having such work carried out at the earliest convenience could also reduce the risk of further damage occurring.

"Faced with the prospect of paying high excesses and losing no claims discounts, most drivers are reluctant to have the repair done and prefer to drive around with the damage on their vehicles," the firm explained.

"This is where SMART repairs come in to their own as they can be carried out with the absolute minimum of inconvenience and cost to the owner as they can be carried out at their home address or place of business."

The SMART team uses the latest equipment to carry out its repair work and recently invested in UV technology, which allows it to cure a lacquer finish on ally wheels within eight minutes.
