Vauxhall to launch New Year discount scheme

Vauxhall has unveiled a new festive deal on the majority of its new cars.

Ahead of the VAT rise on January 4th, the manufacturer has launched Vauxhall Countdown, giving motorists the chance to purchase many of its models with a 20 per cent discount.

The offer is available between December 27th and January 31st and could see drivers opt for a new vehicle as a Christmas present.

In particular, the Vauxhall Astra 1.4-litre Exclusiv will be subject to the 20 per cent discount and might prove popular, since it is the company's best-selling range.

Meanwhile, others in search of a small car might instead choose the Vauxhall Agila or Corsa.

Vauxhall marketing director Peter Hope commented: "We're committed to reducing the pain of the latest VAT rise as much as possible. [Vauxhall Countdown] has instant appeal for all our customers and makes ownership of some of our latest, award-winning cars even more attractive than before."

The offer does not apply to the Antara or Zafira Exclusiv models.
