Volvo V60 Polestar makes world debut

Volvo has officially released the details of its latest models featuring Polestar performance engineering.

Polestar is partner company of Volvo that handles the motorsport programme and it has delivered the 850, S40, S60 and C30 in its 17-year history.

In a press release, it has been revealed that both models embrace the Polestar ideals of motoring enjoyment in all weather conditions, no matter what time of year it is. Christian Dahl, chief executive of Polestar, said: "This is a driver's car for real life."

Mr Dahl also added that the V60 continues a tradition of fast Volvo estates, such as the racing 850 BTCC, which are popular among the brand's customers.

The six-cylinder turbo-charged T6 engine has undergone extensive development, using a new twin-scroll turbo and intercooler allowing it to produce 250 HP/257 kW at 5700rpm. These features help the model to achieve 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds.

Volvo has said the car's development has been going on for the past few years and follows on from the C30 and S60 concept cars. It has been tested on mountain roads, the Autobahn and test tracks throughout Europe.
