What to Expect from the new Dacia Jogger HYBRID 140

The all-new Dacia Jogger hasn’t been around for long, but it has certainly made a big impression.

Already a multi-award winner, the versatile MPV was crowned ‘Value Car of the Year’ at the News UK Motor Awards 2022, ‘Family Car of the Year’ at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2022, and ‘Readers’ Choice’ at the TopGear.com Awards 2022.

It’s an impressive seven-seat family car that does everything you need it to do – at an affordable price. But Dacia hasn't stopped there. The manufacturer is releasing a hybrid version of the Jogger later this year. This will be Dacia’s first-ever hybrid electric vehicle - and it is set to build on the current model’s success.

A new era of electrification

As more and more manufacturers make the shift towards electrification, Dacia has jumped aboard.

The Jogger HYBRID 140 will give families the best of both worlds, allowing drivers to make significant savings at the fuel pumps, without changing their driving habits.

The advanced powertrain pairs a 1.6-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.2kWh battery – and does not need to be plugged in, thanks to intelligent regenerative braking technology.

The Jogger HYBRID will always start up in full-electric mode and can seamlessly switch between power sources depending on the driving conditions, for optimal efficiency. In urban environments, it can travel in EV mode up to 80% of the time, making it 40% more fuel-efficient than a comparable petrol or diesel vehicle.

It feels dynamic and punchy – and can accelerate from 0-62mph in around 10 seconds. With automatic transmission, it also provides a smooth driving experience.

For the environmentally focused, it has an official WLTP economy figure of 56.5mpg with CO2 emissions of 112g/km.

Trims and specifications

Two trim options are available for the new hybrid model – Expression, and Extreme SE. Both are available in the exclusive new Shadow Grey finish.

The entry-level Expression trim comes with a reversing camera, parking sensors, cruise control, and a blindspot warning system. Extreme SE models get the addition of a built-in sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, and heated front seats.

Space inside remains the same as the petrol model, thanks to clever positioning of the battery in the spare-wheel compartment. Therefore, families can enjoy an electrified experience with no compromise on practicality.

Lionel Jaillet, Dacia VP Product Performance commented: “Less than a year after the launch of the Jogger, we are taking a new step by presenting another version of the model with a HYBRID 140 engine. It’s a clutchless hybrid, offering an all-electric start and reduction in fuel consumption. The Jogger HYBRID 140 represents Dacia’s position perfectly – it is the most accessible hybrid family vehicle on the market, offering generous interior space as well as all the essential features. By incorporating this engine, Dacia has taken the leap with hybrid technology.”

Dacia is set to go all-electric in its line-up across Europe from 2030.

Order books for the new Dacia Jogger HYBRID are now open with first deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2023. Prices start from £22,595, making it one of the UK’s cheapest hybrid options.
