Which? awards Michelin cold weather tyres with 'best buy' accolade
While this Christmas has been unusually mild, the UK is bracing itself for a bout of cold weather.
As such, motorists could be encouraged to heed the numerous calls to ensure they are safe when out on the roads.
With that in mind, many drivers could be interested in the recent decision by industry publication Which? to award the Michelin Alpin A4 and the Primacy Alpin PA3 winter tyres as "Best Buys".
With so many different ranges on offer it can be difficult for motorists to know where to turn.
The Which? stamp of approval in not awarded lightly so drivers can be certain that the recent Best Buys are among the best on the market.
Steve Dolby, product marketing manager at Michelin, welcomed the badge of honour, saying: "There has been considerable interest from UK consumers in cold weather tyres this year and sales so far are estimated to be more than half a million tyres – up nearly 50 per cent over the same period last year."
However, the expert said that the UK is still lagging behind mainland Europe with regard to buying winter tyres and urged UK drivers to upgrade in time for he inevitable cold snap.
