Citroen unveils DS Wild Rubis concept at Shanghai Motor Show

Citroen has revealed a brand new DS Wild Rubis concept car at this week's Shanghai Motor Show, a vehicle that boasts superb style and new creative technologies to create a great all-round vehicle.

The full-hybrid is powered via plug-in technology and has a range of 31 miles in all-electric mode and offers 295 bhp with the boost and low CO2 emissions of 43g/km.

On the exterior, the DS Wild Rubis stands out with its full-LED headlights with scrolling indicator lights at the base and a diapason-shaped light signature on the edge. When motorists start the vehicle, it comes to life with the three lighting modules in the headlights and special sound effects combine to make sure it stands out.

The car also makes crystal-like whispering sounds intended to enhance the range of lighting configurations that helps to stimulate the imagination of any onlookers.

Under the bonnet is a 225 bhp 1.6-litre THP petrol internal combustion engine that won an international engine of the year award, given the honour by a selection of 65 motoring journalists from across the globe. This works with a 70 bhp electric engine on the rear axle that uses lithium-ion batteries that motorists can recharge with a domestic plug socket.
