CUPRA to Expand Lineup with New Electrified SUV

CUPRA has announced an all-new model set to join its lineup in 2024. The electrified vehicle will be available in mild hybrid (mHEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) form and is set to take on the highly competitive compact SUV segment.

Check out the teaser video below:

The manufacturer is accelerating its rollout of electrified vehicles. Last year, they introduced the Born; CUPRA’s first all-electric vehicle. It well and truly burst onto the EV scene, taking ‘Best Small Electric Car’ at the What Car? Awards 2022. Plus, the highly popular Formentor and Leon models are currently available in hybrid form.

The new electrified SUV will be an extremely important vehicle for CUPRA, as the performance brand is poised to spearhead sister brand SEAT’s global expansion. The PHEV variant will have an all-electric range of around 62 miles, fronting a new generation of plug-in hybrids.

The newly announced model will be one of four other vehicles set to join CUPRA’s range over the coming years, which includes an all-electric coupe SUV, the Tavascan; a compact electric model named Urban Rebel, and a new hatchback that will be positioned between the Cupra Born and another to-be-confirmed SUV.
