Fiat Doblo bags international award

A new model from Fiat has been named International Van of the Year 2011 at an awards ceremony in Germany.

The Fiat Doblo Cargo was assessed by 24 specialist commercial vehicle journalists from different countries at the event in Hannover and came out with 128 out of a possible 168 points.

Held in celebration of the Hannover International Motor Show's 63rd edition, the ceremony saw judges particularly impressed with Fiat Doblo's wide range of engines, as well as its driving quality and overall comfort.

Fiat Professional chief executive Lorenzo Sistino labelled the award-winning van "innovative".

"The fact that the Doblo has won demonstrates its level of innovation, but also the extent of the changes in order to respond to new customer needs," Mr Sistino said.

"The award is a testimony to our product innovation capacity," he added.

Launched in March this year, the van has become more widely sought after among commercial vehicle drivers.

In other news, this month saw Fiat launch a new website that boasts more features and is more accessible.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800078684-ADNFCR
