Fiat offers congratulations to GB cyclist
Italian carmaker Fiat has congratulated British cycling ace Geraint Thomas after the World Champion and Olympic gold medallist was selected to compete with the GB Cycling squad this summer.
"Fiat is a proud partner of British Cycling and pleased to be supporting Geraint and the team in such a great British sporting year," the firm said.
The manufacturer first teamed up with the British Cycling team in 2010 in a deal which sees Fiat Group Automobiles UK Ltd act as the sole supplier of Fiat cars for British Cycling activities and programmes.
As part of the deal the team have had the use of a large number of cars from the current Fiat line-up including the Bravo, Punto Evo, Special Edition GBT Punto and the award-winning 500 city car.
The news comes shortly after the Fiat 500 enhanced its reputation as one of the UK's most-popular cars.
Last month saw the 100,000th model sold in the UK and the landmark figures was reached after the car was handed a number of industry accolades.
