Ford improves commercial range

Ford has announced additions and adaptations to its popular commercial van range.

From next month, all of the manufacturer's rear-wheel-drive Ford Transit vans from 100PS to 200PS will feature six-speed transmission as standard, making it easier to pull away in first gear and extending clutch life.

The new transmission boasts improved fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.

Ford has also unveiled the new 14-seat Transit Minibus, which is on sale from £25,400 and comes with a choice of three 2.4-litre powertrains ranging from 100PS to 140PS.

All Ford vans feature ESP, ABS, airbags and the latest generation of seatbelts.

The manufacturer notes: "All models are designed to carry occupants in a safe, spacious and well-equipped interior. The Transit provides a car-like ride and a handling experience which aids those who usually drive cars."

The Transit SportVan will become the first medium commercial vehicle from Ford that includes a DAB digital radio as standard next month.

Customers looking for a Ford commercial might be enticed by the Transit, since it recently won the Best Security Panel Van 2010 award from What Van? Magazine for the sixth consecutive year.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800029720-ADNFCR
