Ford praised for its vehicle dynamics with two awards

Ford has been noted for its vehicles' dynamics with two awards at this year's Vehicle Dynamics International (VDI) Awards.

It won the Dynamics Team of the Year and Dynamicist of the Year at the ceremony, with the manufacturer noted for its work on the new B-MAX, Kuga, Focus ST and Fiesta ST.

David Put, the Ford Team RS vehicle dynamics specialist, won the individual award for his contributions to the Focus ST and Fiesta ST. His work provided "signature steering feel and precision".

Automotive journalists praised Ford for the work on its cars, which ensured they were "subtle, responsive and an absolute pleasure to drive".

"Ford has put ride and handling at the heart of vehicle development for many years now, regardless of whether the car is a practical MPV or a desirable hot-hatch," said Graham Heeps, editor at Vehicle Dynamics International.

Ford is the first manufacturer to secure each award twice since the ceremony launched in 2008.
