Ford to highlight its cutting-edge technologies during Champions League Final

Ford is set to demonstrate the pioneering technologies across its range of vehicles in a half-time TV ad during the Uefa Champions League final this Saturday.

The American manufacturer will harness the huge popularity of the match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to direct millions of viewers to visit its website to watch a series of videos on its vehicles' technologies.

A 30-second ad will be shown to TV audiences, while the 90,000-strong crowd at Wembley Stadium will be encouraged to visit the site on perimeter boards during the match itself.

"The UEFA Champions League final has a bigger TV audience even than the Super Bowl," said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe.

"It's the perfect opportunity to present the Blue Oval to millions of customers as a brand that offers great cars with remarkable technologies that make life a little easier, safer and more fun."

He added that the focus of the campaign will be digital and social, with the firm hoping that consumers continue the conversation across Facebook and Twitter to discuss what their personal dream technologies are for future cars.
