Funding boost for East Cheshire Hospice

A Macclesfield dealership has raised more than £5,500 for East Cheshire Hospice following a second fundraising event.

Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Macclesfield fundraised £3,076 at a sell-a-thon event at the end of last year, after raising £2,572 with a similar event earlier in 2015.

The dealership, which is located at Lyme Green Business Park, donated £50 for every new car sold in September, bringing the total raised in 2015 to £5,649.

East Cheshire Hospice relies heavily on donations receiving less than 20% of its running costs from local NHS funds.

The money raised goes some of the way towards the £4 million that East Cheshire Hospice needs to raise every year from the community it serves in order to continue to deliver its high quality care to patients and their families in the Macclesfield area and beyond.

“We’re so pleased to have been able to help East Cheshire Hospice raise money for the second time in a year,” said David Woodward, sales manager at Bristol Street Vauxhall.

“The Hospice does great work in our local community and it is incredibly important that local businesses give their support so East Cheshire Hospice can continue providing a high level of care to its patients.”

Roxana Pirlea, corporate & community relationships manager at East Cheshire Hospice, added: “We would like to thank David, the team at Bristol Street Motors and all those customers for their continued support.

“Given that we have to raise over 80% of our funding and only 4% of it comes from commercial organisations, by fundraising for us, Bristol Street Motors have contributed an estimated 9.4% towards the total amount of money raised from businesses in the last financial year. This is quite an achievement!”
