Hyundai Genesis claims top design award
The Hyundai Genesis has picked up a rather unique title at the 2014 IF Product Design Award ceremony in Munich, Germany.
In the Transportation design/special vehicles category, the car took the top prize, thanks to its exterior which is an evolution of the brand's fluidic sculpture design.
It features a long wheelbase and short overhangs, which helps to emphasise the lines and natural balance of the the car.
However, the exquisite design doesn't end there, as it continues throughout the interior. High levels of technology emphasise Hyundai's potential and focus on the future.
The award was given after a rigorous judging procedure by the IF panel. In addition to classic design, the car also comes with impressive levels of driving security, comfort and safety.
President and chief design office at Hyundai Motor Company Peter Schreyer said the award is evidence of the brand's transformation in recent years.
"My vision for the brand is to create more connections with our customers. Design is the ultimate expression of a brand and its values, it establishes the connection. All-new Genesis, which takes the evolved design of Hyundai models and shows how it can translate across segments, is already connecting to Europeans on an emotional level,” he said.
