Hyundai has announced pricing and specification details for the All-New KONA N. It will be the first performance SUV in the brands N line-up and prices will start from £35,395 OTR.
The KONA N features many motorsport inspired upgrades from the regular model, providing racetrack readiness through powerful acceleration, agility and versatility.
The top spec model in the KONA range will offer plenty of advanced tech as standard, with optional extras including metallic and pearlescent body finishes.
The KONA N is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged GDI engine with an 8-speed dual-clutch N DCT transmission which allows for three distinct driving technologies, designed for maximum driving enjoyment.
N Power Shift (NPS) engages when the car accelerates with more than 90% of throttle, delivering maximum power to the wheels. When NPS is used during Launch Control, the All-New KONA N can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.5 seconds.
N Grin Shift (NGS) maximises the engine and DCT performance for 20 seconds, which shifts to the most appropriate gear and delivers maximum performance.
N Track Sense Shift (NTS) optimises gearshifts for racetrack driving, enabling the driver to focus more on steering.
The All-New KONA N also comes with Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) which allows drivers to influence the stiffness of suspension, to optimise the vehicle’s response in a variety of driving situations - at the push of a button.
The exterior features understated body-coloured design elements with red accents exclusive to the N range, including brake callipers and side sills. There are large air openings to help cool the engine, plus exclusive N alloy wheels in a dark satin finish.
At the rear, there’s a large double-wing spoiler – underneath this sits a third, triangular brake light. Plus, further red accent lines and two large exhaust mufflers emphasise the performance spirit.
KONA N is available in a range of popular colours as well as a newly developed, Sonic Blue. This exclusive paint complements the red, dark grey and black elements on the car exterior.
Inside, the vehicle boasts N-exclusive seats, steering wheel and shift knob, with blue colour accents. It comes with a 10-inch infotainment system with a head up display.
The KONA N comes with a range of intuitive technologies such as wireless charging, parking sensors, reversing camera, adaptive cruise control and a premium audio system as standard. Plus, a full catalogue of driver assistance programmes for optimal safety, such as: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Alert, Safe Exit Warning and Smart Cruise Control.
