Motorists keen to get behind the wheel of the new Hyundai i20 have been given some more details on the motor by the South Korean manufacturer.

The i20 is due to be released in the UK on May 7th and the company has now confirmed that prices will start from £9,995.

Those in the market for a new supermini will find the new i20 has been "refreshed" both inside and out, while the lower emissions - Hyundai boasts figures of just 84g/km from the 1.1-litre diesel engine - will see the car appeal to those of an eco-conscious deposition.

Hyundai explained: "To further enhance the i20's appeal, Hyundai's designers have given the car an attractive exterior makeover that features new wheel designs plus a hexagonal front grille that is in keeping with [the firm's] current fluidic sculpture design.

"Further design changes to the front end include new rounded front wings while the reshaped bonnet and headlights continue the theme along with new fog light clusters and daytime running lights."

While the three-door 1.2 petrol Classic model comes in at under £10,000, the range also boasts a top-end 90ps 1.4 CRDi Style model costing from £14,295.
