Hyundai has given a strong indicator as to what direction it intends to go in with regards to all future designs of its automobiles.

At the 2013 North American International Auto Show, the South Korean multinational car manufacturer premiered its HCD-14 Genesis concept car.

This is luxury driving at its most exalted, explained Tak Uk Im, chief operating officer and head of Hyundai's international operations division in Seoul.

"Our focus going forward is to strive for brand innovation based on quality," he said.

What is remarkable about the HCD-14 Genesis is that it conveys a "fluid-precision, liquid-metal design language," Hyundai has stated.

It comes with a punchy front fascia that surrounds metal grille surfaces, the corners of the boot nicely incorporate head extractor design accents and large wheels give it a strong presence on the roads.

"We instilled HCD-14 Genesis with a premium-sport 4-door coupe road presence," elaborated Christopher Chapman, chief designer at Hyundai Design North America.

"Inside, a driver-centric cockpit prioritises dramatic sculpture over infotainment button overload. Laminated and milled-wood detailing delivers a fresh, topographical map-like visual interest throughout the cabin-length centre console."
