Hyundai Releases Images of IONIQ 5's Interior Ahead of World Premiere

Hyundai has revealed the interior images of the IONIQ 5 ahead of its highly-anticipated world premiere on February 23rd.

The IONIQ 5 CUV will be the first model to sit under the new IONIQ brand, which has been created specifically for Hyundai’s electric vehicle range and will be followed by the IONIQ 6 sedan in 2022 and the IONIQ 7 large SUV in 2024.

Set to make its world debut on February 23rd 2021, Hyundai has teased us with images of the new model’s sustainable interior to get us prepared.

SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Centre, said: “IONIQ 5 is a statement of design that offers an optimistic look at what customers can expect in the new EV era. The long-wheelbase is translated to a new dimension of space. We designed this special space as a perfect place to recharge – your home away from home.”

Let’s take a closer look at the interior.

AN ECO-FRIENDLY LIVING SPACE

To create a home from home feel, Hyundai has made the IONIQ 5’s interior cabin a living space, where comfort and relaxation are the main priority.

The IONIQ 5 provides plenty of space to sit back and relax and features additional leg rests and adjustable seats to improve comfort and posture on every journey.

In the centre, the traditional storage box has been replaced with a more functional, yet homely, console, with room for your morning coffee to sit perfectly in arm’s reach.

Hyundai has also listened to consumer demands and taken into consideration the need for mobility solutions that reduce environmental impact. As well as the IONIQ 5 releasing zero emissions on every journey, which improves air quality, the brand has also created a sustainable interior design to optimise environmental impact positively.

By using materials that have been sustainably sourced, Hyundai has demonstrated that car manufacturing can be eco-friendly, without comfort or style having to be compromised. The neutral colour palette offers a modern and clean finish throughout, creating a calming environment within the cabin area to ensure every passenger and driver feel relaxed and at ease.

The seats are made from an eco-processed leather that has been dyed and treated with plant oil extractions, optimising comfort whilst helping the planet. Smaller details, like the dashboard, switches, steering wheel and door panels, have been coated in a polyurethane bio paint composed of oils from rape flowers and corn for the perfect finishing touch.

The IONIQ 5 will be unveiled on February 23rd along with the launch of the special edition model – Project 45. Customers who are interested in the limited edition IONIQ 5 ‘Project 45’ model, will be able to reserve it online at the world premiere and will benefit from being the first in the UK to take delivery.
