Keith Cronin to drive Renault Twingo

Keith Cronin, the Double British Rally Champion, is set to put the new Renault Twingo through its paces as the new season gets underway.

RenaultSport has confirmed that the rally ace will drive the Twingo Renaultsport R1 Trophy car on the opening round of this year's BRC Rallye Sunseeker International.

"When the opportunity to drive the R1 Twingo came up, I accepted and I am really looking forward to driving the car. Let's hope I can show what the car is capable of doing and provide a competitive benchmark for the other Twingo competitors," Cronin commented.

The driver, who will be assisted by BRC and WRC Academy co-driver Seb Marshall, is expected to perform well after being crowned champion in 2009 and 2010.

Trophy manager Simon Moss added: "We wanted to make a bit of a splash and Keith kindly agreed to take the challenge. I'd like to thank Mantis Performance Car Care for making this possible, as the car will run under its colours."
