Look out for new Clio in 2012

While the turn of the year can mean overpriced drinks, long tax queues and a hangover to some people, motoring enthusiasts see it as a chance to scope out upgraded models.

And supermini fans will not be disappointed in 2012 as the fourth generation Renault Clio will be released.

While it is not set to hit showroom floors until November, What Car? has highlighted the model on its New Cars for 2012 feature.

Set to come with a price tag in the region of £10,500, the new Clio offers futuristic styling and an aggressive grill.

And, with the new model only available as a five-door, more drivers with small families could be tempted to get behind the wheel of the iconic French hatchback.

While the decision to produce only a five-door model has raised a few eyebrows, What Car? claims that the design of the car has not been compromised.

"For the first time, the Clio is expected to be a five-door model only, even in high-performance Renaultsport Clio form. Styling tricks will create a three-door look," the magazine explained.

"The Clio will have a more aggressive look than the Zoe EV, which is a similar size but will be available with an electric powertrain only."
