Japanese car maker Mazda has announced the signing of a new deal aimed at increasing its profile in the UK.

The firm has been unveiled as the new sponsor of the Donington Park race course.

As part of its sponsorship, the company will provide a fleet of cars including the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-7 to the Midlands-based circuit.

The partnership will also see Donington Park host test sessions for the 2012 MX-5 GT race car development programme.

Commenting on the deal, Mazda UK's PR director Graeme Fudge said the current Mazda range fits perfectly with Doningtion's need for reliable, sporty, and stylish cars with high performance credentials.

Gemma Toogood, head of commercial sales and marketing at Donington Park Racing, added: "We are absolutely delighted to be working with Mazda UK once again, after enjoying a good relationship with the brand in 2008 and 2009.

"We look forward to promoting the unique benefits of Mazda’s stylish product range to our wider audience in 2012."
