New Ford Mondeo to go on sale in October
Ford has revealed that the latest incarnation of its Mondeo will go on sale in the UK in October.
The new Ford Mondeo will boast higher performance and increased levels of technology such as a lane departure warning system, auto high beam, smart regenerative charging and an active grille shutter.
A new 200PS 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine is being added to the model's powertrain range, alongside a comprehensively revised 2.2-litre Ford Duratorq TDCi engine, which offers 12 per cent more power than its predecessor.
Ford of Europe chairman and chief executive officer John Fleming said the new vehicle will strengthen the Mondeo's status as Ford's flagship model in Europe.
"This is the smartest, safest, most environmentally-friendly and best quality Mondeo we have ever launched," he added.
Earlier this year, Ford also announced a series of upgrades to its Fiesta engine line-up.
