New Ford Mondeo to incorporate innovative parking system

Ford has revealed that the all-new version of the Mondeo will feature the European debut of Advanced Active Park Assist - the manufacturer's first system to support perpendicular parking.

The new model, which is the first vehicle built on Ford's new global CD-segment platform, will also be the first Ford car for Europe to feature a new integral link rear suspension configuration.

According to the manufacturer, this helps it to deliver greater refinement and more dynamic performance.

Barb Samardzich, vice president of Product Development at Ford, said the features underline the "sophisticated quality, technology and driving experience" that the new Mondeo delivers.

"The Mondeo has always been at the forefront of Ford's European passenger car range, but the all-new model is a watershed moment for large car customers and a new benchmark for features in this competitive sector," he added.

The new model is also set to feature the European debut of Ford's rear inflatable seatbelts, which are designed to reduce head, neck and chest injuries for rear-seat passengers.
