Motoring fans excited by the looks of the recently unveiled Ford Evos Concept could be among those rushing out to buy a Mondeo in the near future.

A sneak peak of the next-generation Mondeo has been unveiled by Auto Express and according to the publication the styling borrows heavily from the aggressive-looking Evos.

"Key to the Evos' new face is a familiar element – the big, inverted trapezoidal front grille already seen on the Fiesta, Focus and C-Max – but it's now much higher up, replacing the old thin top grille," the magazine noted.

"The badge has been refined and jumps onto the bonnet and two very slim and angular headlamps frame the new mouth."

It comes after the Telegraph claimed that the Evos will be to the 2013 Mondeo what previous Ford concept the Iosis was to previous models.

Writing for the newspaper, Andrew English said the Evos is a preview of what Ford fans can expect from the 2013 Mondeo.
