New fourth-generation Renault Clio unveiled

French car giant Renault has unveiled the fourth generation of its popular Clio model.

The model received its world debut earlier this week ahead of the Paris Motor Show and the manufacturer looks to be going after a slice of the green car market with an impressive CO2 emissions reduction.

Indeed, one of the latest edition Clio models, which comes with taller gear ratios, boasts fuel consumption of 65.7 mpg and to CO2 emissions at just 99g/km.

Laurens van den Acker, senior vice-president of corporate design, explained: "New Renault Clio was conceived as a piece of sensuous sculpture which stimulates desire."

Perhaps over-egging the looks of the new mode, Acker added: "Like muscles, its curves express the dynamism radiated by the DeZir concept car. No acute or aggressive angles, just voluptuous curves that make you want to go up to it and caress it."

That said, it is a great looking car and with several innovative new features, Renault could have another hit on its hands.
